Willerby offers staycation inspiration with opening of new showground

Leading holiday home and lodge manufacturer Willerby has opened a brand new showground in Hull this month, where visitors can now view the largest collection of Willerby models all in one location.

The new showground offers dealers, parks and the public the chance to view Willerby’s extensive range of holiday homes, including the newly launched family friendly Skye that was unveiled earlier this year in response to the rise in British staycations. The showground is the second of its kind opened in the UK, following the success of its sister showground in Scotland in 2016.

The Hull showground is the only place in England where over 20 of the latest Willerby holiday home and lodge models will be available to view. The showground will also be home to a customer visitor centre, where customers will be offered advice on purchasing their ideal model and appointments can be made with on-site experts.

One of the most sought after models in the world, the original Willerby Vogue, is also available to view at the showground. With only 10 original Vogues thought to be left in existence, visitors will get a rare chance to see the iconic 1957 model. Purchased in 2016 by Willerby as part of the company's 70th anniversary and following restoration work, the Vogue has now been given a resting ground where visitors can learn about its 60-year heritage.

Kirsten Bolton, marketing director commented: “Following the immense success that we’ve had with our first showground in Scotland, with more than 25,000 visitors since its opening last year, we wanted to bring another showground a little closer to home here in Hull.

“The showground is a great opportunity for visitors at any stage of the buying process, from first time buyers to those looking to buy their third or fourth Willerby holiday home, visitors are welcome to browse the range at their leisure with our friendly team of experts on hand to provide support and advice.”

Throughout the year the showground will also be home to a host of open days including specialist events for people looking to purchase a holiday home abroad, as well as launching never-before-seen products. Entry and parking to the showground are free, and will be open Monday-Friday 9-4 pm with weekend opening hours available from late November onwards.

The opening comes hot on the heels of Willerby’s first ever standalone trade show, that took place in September in partnership with Southern Counties Leisure. Parks, dealers and members of the public were invited to view the newly launched 2018 collection of holiday homes and lodges at Crealy Adventure Park.

Willerby has recently ranked in the Sunday Times Grant Thornton Top Track 250, moving up 45 places in the league table since 2016. The new positioning places Willerby amongst Britain’s private mid-market growth companies with the biggest sales of 2017. Willerby has also been awarded the Yorkshire Business Enterprise award at the Yorkshire awards earlier in October, recognising the company’s contribution to the region over the last year.

The new showground follows investment from one of Europe’s leading mid-market private equity investors, Equistone Partners Europe, earlier this year. This impressive vote of confidence is supporting the company’s expansion within the growing UK holiday homes market by leveraging its strong brand, new product development and quality production to meet consumer demand.

In September, Willerby also launched a new-look website, showcasing its entire range and enabling the brand to connect more with its extensive network of customers, dealers and parks, to increase direct communication with customers from a specialist perspective.

The new showground is situated on Marfleet Avenue, Hull and visits can be made by appointment only. To book, please email showground@whh.co.uk
