2019 will see some subtle changes for many tourer manufacturers, and the big news from the shows season is that Hymer's Elddis division is expanding its Compass brand with motorhomes.
The summer trade shows finished last week with Bailey's event: so what’s been happening? Well we’ve taken a quick look at what’s coming through to the dealer’s forecourts over the next few weeks, and produced a quick pick of new models which the buying public will be expected to part with their hard-earned cash for…
1 Coachman – who sadly lost founder Jim Hibbs just after their trade Show at the end of July – brought back the Laser range but also introduced this new Pastiche 470 model (below)
2 The Pastiche 470 comes with an L-shaped front lounge and side dinette, this model was launched in 2016 with a fixed front bed and has been improved
3 The Compass name arrives back in motorhomes for 2019 – and what a great line-up of coachbuilts they have, including also two Fiat-based panel vans
4 Superb modern interior of the Compass Coachbuilt range comes with good specification too
5 Elddis Avante 586 six-berth family model – the layout appears in Compass and the entry level Xplore tourer range
6 Interior of the Avante 586 with rear side fixed bunks, the Avante line up overall offers an impressive specification
7 Elddis Autoquest panel van was a surprise with two layouts available for 2019, also duplicated for the Compass brand too
8 Interior of the two-berth Elddis panel van Autoquest
9 Celebrations at Swift Group as the Eccles brand is 100 years old in 2019 and also marks the birth of the modern car-pulled caravan!
10 New interior has been given to the 2019 Eccles with classy new wood finish and a good spec
11 Swift's luxury Kon-Tiki motorhomes get a brand new profile for 2019
12 Kon-Tiki interiors are super modern and come with very high specification a truly luxury motorhome
13 After Swift launched the Sprite Supers at 8ft wide, the Elegance also gets this treatment plus new profile for 2019
14 The interior of the new Elegance Grande 8ft wide range offering luxury with space!
15 Lunar’s talking point is the new 8ft wide Quasar 686 – a six-berth which will see another model being launched in February
16 Interior of the prototype Quasar 686 offering good living space for six
17 Bailey has dropped its Pursuit after 18 months to replace it with the entry-level Phoenix range; these will also be available as dealer specials
18 Phoenix interiors are more upmarket than the Pursuits; this end of the market is hotly contested
19 Adria launched its new twin-axled family model in the Adora range, which now has Alde heating as standard
20 Rear of the new Adora 623 Sava, with fixed bunks on right and rear washroom
21 Just launched – Bailey’s new 8ft-wide Pegasus, the GT70 range has gone with Bailey putting all their eggs in one basket with an 8-ft wide mid-range
22 Interior of the new Pegasus. This new lounge arrangement will win votes but, as we know, nothing’s new – and Bailey had this design as far back as 1977!
Check out many of these models and more at the forthcoming Caravan & Motorhome Show 2018 at the NEC from Tuesday 16 – Sunday 21 October.
