Lake District parks honour six customer service superstars

Customer service champions from four top-ranked holiday parks in Cumbria have been put in the spotlight by their bosses at Lake District Estates.

The six have each been presented with Exceptional Service Award certificates from the British Holiday & Home Parks Association, the park industry's professional body.

The accolades are the highest honours given out by the association to individuals shown to have made "significant and substantial" contributions to park businesses.

According to Lake District Estates, each team member has gone far beyond the extra mile to help guests enjoy the best possible experiences at its parks.

They are Hill of Oaks Caravan Park and Newby Bridge Caravan Park, both on Windermere, Waterfoot Caravan Park on Ullswater, and Woodclose Caravan Park at Kirkby Lonsdale.

The long-established parks variously provide holiday caravans and lodges to both rent and to own, luxury glamping facilities, and pitches for touring caravans and motorhomes.

Lake District Estates is owned by the descendants of the late Lord Wakefield, and the group's sister operations include the Ullswater "Steamers" and the Ravenglass & Eskdale Railway.

Rachel Bell said the company was moved to nominate the six for the honours after analysing customer feedback and reviews over the past twelve months:

"So many of our guests make a special mention of the welcome, hospitality and friendly atmosphere they enjoy on our parks when they visit," she said.Lake District parks honour six customer service superstars

"Delivering this is entirely in the hands of our hard-working staff, and they fully deserve to take the credit for ensuring that families have a stay they will long remember.

"The majority of our bookings come from either repeat visitors or personal recommendations, so I think that underlines just what an important role our team plays!" added Rachel.

She said that last year was the busiest on record for the group's parks, and that staycations in 2019 could create an even higher watermark.
