The World of Park and Leisure Homes Show at Stoneleigh earlier this month had some stunning new homes on display: it’s clear that the park home industry is thriving and is full of innovation too.
With over 65 models on display, there was plenty to see. Here we have a selection of just some that grabbed our attention.
Along with established manufacturers, several new companies also turned up so making the show even more interesting.
Willerby had a big launch of their new park homes, which were very impressive, while Wessex showed their new Spinney, and Grandeur made an appearance with just eight months in business.
We also took a shine to the new portable Eco home – it tows like a touring caravan yet is built to be lived in!
The Camping and Caravanning Club has joined forces with the British Mountaineering Council (BMC) to get the nation active outdoors through walking and camping.
This year, National Camping and Caravanning Week runs from Monday, May 28 to Sunday, June 3, to coincide with the Late May Bank Holiday, and is the Club’s annual celebration of all things camping and the great outdoors.
Walking is considered the number one activity for campers – whether a gentle countryside stroll from the campsite via a local pub or a more strenuous trek in the mountains. And by teaming up with the BMC, the Club wants to highlight vital footpath repair work needed in the UK’s 15 National Parks. The BMC’s Mend Our Mountains campaign aims to raise £1million for repairs.
11,502 visitors flock to opening day of the Caravan, Camping and Motorhome Show 2018
The Caravan, Camping and Motorhome Show 2018, the UK’s largest showcase of leisure vehicles, tents and camping accessories is officially open. Taking over five halls of Birmingham’s NEC from today until Sunday 25 February, over 370 exhibitors join under one roof.
Officially opening the event and welcoming over 11,500 visitors, wildlife presenter Gordon Buchanan was joined on stage by Matt Allwright and famed chef Paul Da Costa Greaves. Following the opening, the winner of a new Hillside Leisure VW campervan, courtesy of the show, was presented with the keys to her new home-from-home.
The Camping and Caravanning Club, in partnership with Practical Caravan and Practical Motorhome magazines, has revealed the winners of the Owner Satisfaction Awards for 2018.
This is the second year that a combined Owner Satisfaction Awards has been run for tents, caravans and motorhomes, this year featuring a category for trailer tents and folding campers for the very first time.
The awards, presented at a star-studded industry dinner at The Midland Hotel in Manchester on Thursday 18 January 2018, were based entirely on the input of thousands of Club members and Practical Caravan and Practical Motorhome readers via a year-long Owner Satisfaction Survey.
Returning to Birmingham’s NEC from 20 to 25 February 2018, the Caravan, Camping and Motorhome Show showcases the latest in leisure vehicles, camping, caravan holiday homes and lodges, as well as all the must-have accessories.
For 2018 the show focuses on encouraging all ages to spend ‘24 hours outdoors’, a campaign which is supported by the world’s greatest living explorer Sir Ranulph Fiennes.
Opening the show, Sir Ranulph shares stories of his worldwide adventures including being the first to cross both the Arctic and Antarctic Oceans alongside Charles Burton. He also highlights the importance of enjoying time outside and the benefits it has on overall health and wellbeing.
