With recent data showing that the state of the nation’s mental and physical health is an ongoing concern, a major consumer event next month is set to showcase ways in which the outdoors can improve the wellbeing of people of all ages.

For last year’s Mental Health Awareness Day, statistics were released showing that one in four people in the UK experience a mental health problem every year and that the most common mental health condition is anxiety. It also demonstrated that half of all mental illness begins by the age of 14 and that three quarters of all mental health problems are established by the age of 24.

Responding to growing consumer interest and demand, the organisers of the Caravan, Camping & Motorhome Show report a 37% growth in space allocated for tent and camping display areas at the NEC show for 2019, making space for new brands to the show for the first time such as Terra Nova, Field Candy, Robens, Bowcamp and Isabella (tents).  Incorporating the new ‘Camping Zone’ for 2019, Hall 5 will accommodate 1000sqm of dedicated ‘feature area’ space for the display of new tent innovations.

In addition, growth has taken place this year for display areas for campervans and caravan awnings and in Hall 4 where the larger leisure and park homes are located there will be a ’Glamping’ feature area with a climbing wall as a central attraction.

Spaniels Max and Paddy and new puppy Harry will attend the 2019 Caravan, Camping & Motorhome show

Max & Paddy at the Caravan, Camping & Motorhome show

The organisers of the Camping, Caravan and Motorhome Show are pleased to announce the attendance of hill bagging spaniels Max and Paddy with the new addition to the family, Harry the puppy with their owner Kerry Irving. Max and Paddy have become internet and social media sensations since 2006 when Kerry started sharing their adventures.

The story begins with an awful car accident that saw owner Kerry Irving, of Keswick, Cumbria, being left with chronic back and neck pain. This resulted in the active outdoor-loving Kerry housebound and taking up to 27 tablets a day and quickly led to deep depression all until he met Max. Kerry started taking Max on regular walks around The Lake District which eventually dramatically improved Kerry's physical and mental health.
