Another First For The Spa Leisure Industry

Family in a spa

Park Leisure Solutions Ltd announced the launch of a brand new, all in one Spa Water Auto-fill, Quality Monitoring and In Line Treatment System. The new Auto-fill and chemical dosing system, coupled with their award winning Climacube system offers Park Operators the complete solution for their spa operation and maintenance, ensuring the most cost effective way to fill, heat, dose and drain the spas.   HSE Guidelines for Holiday Park Hot Tubs and Spas recommend twice daily monitoring of the chemical and pH balance of your Hot Tub(s) to determine free chlorine levels, fixed chlorine levels, pH and alkalinity. Ensuring safe use for customers and where necessary treating water and dosing the Hot Tub according to the measurement results.   In addition, to make the most effective use of your chemical dosing, which will save money, help the environment, and provide customers with a more enjoyable hot tub experience, tracking the Hot Tub’s temperature and UV exposure can be extremely beneficial. However within a park environment, can also be very time consuming and costly.   That’s why Park Leisure Solutions Limited has developed, and now offer the new monitoring and delivery system. The new System will, in real time, monitor everything for you automatically, sending updates about the Hot Tub’s chemical dosing needs over your WiFi network or Smartphone, from anywhere in the world. The new system will auto adjust the dosing levels in line to create the correct water balance for the Hot Tub or you can adjust remotely if required. Once installed the System is quick and easy to use. They suggest on changeover days adding a Chlorogene tablet ten minutes before emptying the water, which ensures the spas are 100% sanitized and kills biocides and legionella that could potentially be left in the pipe work on drain down which could carry in to the new water being filled. Then simply switch the System on and leave the Spa to auto fill and dose ready for use. Either manual or smart monitoring is available depending the installation requirements.   Fitted to 1, 5, 10, 50 or even 100 + Hot Tubs or Spas the System can remotely monitor, track, record and inline dose each individual Hot Tub in real time and produce the necessary performance data for both maintenance and health and safety departments when required. Saving man hours on change over days and monitoring, taking the guesswork out of your Hot Tub or Spa maintenance, leading to more efficient and effective dosing for your Hot Tubs, saving time and money and providing a safer environment for customers.

Butlin’s Offers A Range Of Eco-Friendly Pouch Bags!

Eco-Friendly Pouch Bags

Visitors at Butlin’s are being offered new fold-away pouch bags made entirely from recycled plastic bottles, thanks to a partnership with Jutexpo, the world’s leading eco-friendly reusable bag company. The eye-catching bags have been made using Jutexpo’s HALT™ process, which turns post-consumer plastic into a soft, durable fabric called rPET (recycled polyethylene terephthalate), which is practical and can be wiped clean. The bags, which come in red or sea green, bear the Butlin’s logo and are available to buy at its three UK resorts – Bognor Regis, Minehead and Skegness. Each bag is made using four plastic bottles. Jutexpo has also produced a range of larger reusable shopping bags made from juco, a blend of jute and cotton, which are also available across all Butlin’s sites. HALT™ bags are the first to have the integrity of certification to the Global Recycled Standard (GRS). They are ethically-produced to the Jutexpo Standard, a set of the 10 key elements Jutexpo considers to be the minimum when it comes to ethical and technical standards, awards and credentials. Butlin’s Managing Director Jon Hendry-Pickup said: “We are very proud to be stocking these new bags: it is essential that brands like Butlin’s do all they can to be as environmentally friendly and ethical as possible.” Robbie McGregor, Director of Jutexpo, said: “Butlin’s is a UK holiday institution which has been enjoyed by generations and everyone knows how invaluable a handy, reusable bag can be when you are away enjoying yourselves. “We are delighted to be supplying these new bags, which offer people the chance to enhance the enjoyment of their holiday in an environmentally friendly and ethically sound way.” Jutexpo, based at Lauriston Business and Technology Park, Salford Priors,  has more than 80 per cent of the UK eco-friendly reusable bag market. It is operated by father and son Barrie and Sam Turner together with Robbie McGregor, and was founded in 2002 after they spotted a gap in the market for reusable bags to minimise plastic bag usage.

Elfin Kitchens goes glamping

Elfin Kitchens in Glamping Pod

Elfin Kitchens has supplied four 1000mm compact kitchens for a selection of high quality camping pods manufactured by The Log Pod. The kitchens have been installed in the luxury timber structures to provide dedicated stations for preparing and storing food and beverages. The ‘Grande Max Plus’ pods have been conceived as an all-year-round living space and designed with a lifespan of at least 25 years. As a result, the interior units needed to be specified with durability in mind, while also providing a stylish finish that matched the rapidly expanding glamping market. These factors combined made the robust powder coated steel kitchens from Elfin Kitchens the ideal solution.  Trevor Richardson, Founder and Managing Director of The Log Pod, explained his reasons for specifying Elfin Kitchens: “When we first designed the pods, we installed wooden kitchen units, but we soon realised that they were simply not durable enough, especially for the rental market. So, we needed something that was manufactured to a high quality and wouldn’t require much maintenance. “The compact kitchens from Elfin have proven to be absolutely perfect; they are designed to last, look great in the pods and the addition of the new colours opens up more design options for us. The new bronze colour, in particular, offers the perfect colour tones to complement the timber.” Looking to the months ahead, Trevor said: “We have orders for hundreds of log pods and we’re so pleased with Elfin Kitchens that we’re specifying them on all future projects.” All the kitchens were built and packaged offsite, then delivered ready for installation. The units are manufactured entirely of powder coated steel, with a stainless steel worktop incorporating a sink and monobloc tap. Appliances specified for log pods included an A+ rated refrigerator and a built-in microwave oven.  Neill Andrew of Elfin Kitchens, added: “The luxury camping market is growing year-on-year and the pods are a great example of how to utilise high quality products and exceptional design to create a great compact living space. It’s great to have such positive feedback from our customers and we’re looking forward to working with Trevor and his team in the future.” Starting at 900mm wide, compact kitchens from Elfin save space and offer great flexibility with right or left-hand versions available, as well as hotplates, dishwashers, combi-ovens and additional storage units all available.  http://elfinkitchens.co.uk

Philips Hue White & Colour Ambience Wireless Lighting Review

Philips Hue White & Colour Ambience Wireless Lighting

Editor Victoria Galligan tried out the Philips Hue smart lighting system – read her review to find out why she’ll never go back to boring bulbs… The lighting revolution is here – and it’s rainbow-coloured! I’d seen the adverts for the Philips Hue smart lightbulbs and always thought they looked like a great idea to create the perfect mood lighting. Setting up the Hue was relatively easy – this pack comes with three bulbs, a Hue ‘Bridge’ device which connects via a wire to your wifi modem, and a dimmer switch which you can stick on a wall. After screwing in two of the bulbs (the types available are B22, E27, GU10 spotlights and E14 for smaller lamps, as well as strip lighting and garden lighting if you’re feeling particularly creative) I installed an app on my phone. After a couple of app updates, I was ready to go. I had to link the Bridge to the app, then name my room and the different lamps. Then the magic began. I experimented with the colours, first choosing from the 16 million – yes that’s right! – different colours available on the Hue colour wheel. The app also has pre-set mood lighting called “Scenes”, so you can choose, for example, a scene called Savannah Sunset where one lamp turns golden and another a rich burnt orange. Colourful lighting with security benefits The time settings allow you to pre-program the lights to turn on and off, and the automatic ‘Out of Home Control’ option switches off lights when you leave. In addition I found a great security hack where, if you buy an outdoor motion sensor (£44.99), your indoor lights can be switched on if someone approaches at night – perfect for putting off burglars. This lighting system is well worth investing in – in addition to creating the perfect ambience, the Hue system is a great security measure for offices, shops and for holiday homes which are left empty for a while. And for outdoor use in a bar or pool area, the possibilities are endless. See meethue.com to order your Philips Hue smart lightbulbs.

New Hex Court Is Set To Revolutionise The Holiday Park Recreation Scene

Drawing of Hex Court

The HEX Court, the latest invention from Playinnovation™, experts in creating the wow factor through the design and installation of outdoor sports and play equipment, is set to revolutionise holiday park recreation for guests and organisers.  This multi-use games area that’s both fun and inclusive has been specifically designed to consist of six ‘pods,’ each providing a different sports activity or target game to create ‘personal pockets’ for children and adults to play.  The HEX Court is also great for timetabled activities at caravan and holiday parks because an instructor can take a 360-degree view from the centre of the HEX Court and easily run a number of sessions simultaneously.  In addition to encouraging fun and physical activity amongst holiday-goers, it’s also a great facility which promotes positive outcomes via graduated challenges. For example, Playinnovation™ patented games walls can help to develop target skills, hand-to-eye coordination and maths. In one pod, you might find ‘Street Pool,’ then, in the pod next door, a table tennis table or some outdoor gym equipment. The access points can be designed depending on each customer’s requirements, as can a choice of activities.  Playinnovation™ founder, Marco Boi said: “I came up with the HEX Court idea in pretty much the same way as I did when designing our rectangular-style, family-inclusive sports areas and educational games walls.  “I essentially tried to regress back to my childhood and how I felt about joining in on sports activities while at school and on holiday. Imagine some of the many insecurities children, and adults, have when it comes to participation in sport. There’s a complex and important conversation to be had, linking mental wellbeing, self-esteem and physical activity together, and creating spaces with these ‘pockets’ are a great way to make use of a space that can be maximised by six families or groups all at once.”  For more information email marco.boi@playinnovation.co.uk or phone 0203 409 5303.

2019 was an exciting year for The Mayfield Group. This year, we celebrated 30 years of service to the holiday home and decking industry. Holiday homes come in all shapes and sizes and we are experts in creating the perfect sundeck solution for each holiday home across the UK. From design to installation, The Mayfield Group will work with you and your park operators every step of the way to help you realise your dream decking. Established in 1989, The Mayfield Group is the manufacturer of the popular Focus Decking and the luxurious Hampton Decking. The skilled Mayfield team can supply and fit custom made sundecks for your holiday home. From Seamist Green to Cornish Cream, we have a wide range of colours available for your new Hampton decking. Our stylish and modern decking can help you transform the look of your static caravan. In the last 30 years we have shown a continued commitment to creating new, outdoor spaces for your whole family to enjoy. Our team can install the latest accessories, including ClearView balustrades, Integrated LED handrails, Silverback steps or even Volcano Hot Tubs! Your local Mayfield expert can also incorporate slopes, rails and gates into your decking design to make sure your new outdoor space is easily accessible for all. Where did it all begin? 30 years ago, Debbie spotted a gap in the market when working at a holiday park selling holiday homes. Debbie helped alleviate access issues for an elderly resident and realised that parks operators could offer accessible sundecks and decking to truly enhance their static caravans. Soon the offering expanded to include ramps, rails, lighting, gates and a whole range of sundeck accessories. Since the early days of The Mayfield Group, Debbie has loved attending some of the biggest holiday homes shows in the UK. When first attending these shows, there were no sundecks or access ramps on displays and Debbie saw this as an opportunity to showcase Mayfield’s selection of holiday home accessories. This step has since transformed the holiday home accessory industry and solidified The Mayfield Group as one of the most trustworthy brands. What’s next for The Mayfield Group? As we look forward to our next 30 years, we hope to continue innovating the holiday home industry and providing caravan owners with the decking of their dreams. The Mayfield Group use the latest technology to develop new products and we have lined up several exciting projects coming up during our landmark year. Cleaning and maintaining your decking has never been easier. We’ve developed high-quality uPVC decking with a longer life expectancy. The new decking combines durability and weather-resistance with a professional finish. Our uPVC sundecks are available in all of our popular colours, including, Dolphin Grey, Brownsea Brown and Kimmeridge Bay Grey. uPVC decking does not absorb any water to guarantee long-lasting decking with no staining or decay. We also continue to diversify our offering by introducing new sundeck accessories as well as improving our existing offering. In particular, we are really proud of our fresh, energy-efficient adaptation to the popular Windsor Lights for your posts. Our Windsor Lights provide a traditional alternative to the Integrated LED handrail, and both can truly enhance your outdoor space once the sun goes down. We have made sure that getting a fast, accurate and perfectly-tailored quote is easier than ever. Our new online Sundeck designed programme, Deck Me, has been created to help you design the perfect custom decking with the size and location of your holiday home in mind. Our reimagined mission With all the new and exciting Mayfield products available, we wanted to provide our customers with a trustworthy and effective cleaning solution that would still be good for the planet.
