The ethos of Play Services Ireland

The ethos of Play Services Ireland is one of personal service, flexibility and ease of doing business.

We take a highly practical approach and, having been on the customer end of this business, we focus on making the lives of our customers easier by taking full responsibility for their regime of playground inspections.

Regular safety inspections ensure play areas remain safe and meet the required standards. We offer post installation inspections, annual inspections, operational inspections and design risk assessments

Annual Inspections

Annual Safety Inspections should be undertaken to ensure that the play area remains as safe as it can be. These inspections include a review of your current systems & procedures to help ensure maximum protection for your business in the unfortunate event of a claim being made against you.

In our experience, successful defence against claims can often come down to being able to supply adequate records of systems and inspections taking place.

We also include Risk Assessments as part of our inspection service free of charge. Under the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974, it is a legal requirement to undertake a Risk Assessment on an Annual basis to ensure the continuing safety of your facility.

Operational Inspections

More regular inspections make it easier to identify wear and tear on the equipment. These inspections should be carried out by an appropriately trained member of staff or alternatively by a suitably qualified specialist and should be recorded. Such inspections should be carried out on a quarterly basis as a minimum.

Training

Play Services Ireland can inspect your playgrounds to any schedule you wish but most of our clients prefer to carry out their own routine (daily or weekly) and operational (quarterly) inspections. In order to do this effectively, staff should be trained to the relevant level of competence as certificated by the Register of Play Inspectors International (RPII). Play Services Ireland provide this training to clients across the UK and Ireland.

Expert Witness Services

Unfortunately, sometimes accidents do happen, and this may or may not be down to equipment defects, failure to inspect, or inadequate supervision.

Our experienced inspectors will be able to help establish the cause of accidents in this area and have many years direct experience of acting as an expert witness. We are also available to assist with substantiating or defending against claims in this area.

These commissions include a detailed site audit, report and appearance in court where required.

Maintenance Contracts

For some clients, our service extends beyond inspection and into maintenance. Should you wish, we can provide an on-site service to perform essential maintenance requiring replacement of small items such as fixings, seats, shackles, etc. If your requirements exceed that we will signpost you to other suitable suppliers.
