Getting into E-Biking

spirit e-bike from Raliegh

Cycling and caravanning have gone hand-in-hand for many years.  The freedom of escaping to the countryside, exploring new locations and connecting with nature is the great attraction of both.  Over the past couple of years, there’s been a quiet revolution in the cycling world with electric bikes or e-bike sales going through the roof.

Expertly engineered e-bikes take the strain out of cycling. An e-bike’s power boost ensures riders enjoy the freedom and health benefits associated with conventional cycling and can go further, faster and for longer, bringing great adventures within reach of everyone.

We caught up with the Terry Blackwood at Raleigh, the UK’s leading manufacturer of e-bikes, to find out more about bringing this cycling revolution to caravan parks.

Travel agents risk losing custom by playing generic music on hold

Travel agents’ call handling standards have come into question as the result of a major new study into telephone practice.

The research conducted by audio branding specialist PHMG, which audited 184 firms in the industry, discovered the large majority risk losing custom by subjecting customers to generic music and audio while on hold.

Typically, waiting on hold is seen as a major bugbear but 65 per cent of travel agents still leave customers listening to nothing but generic music. A further 18 per cent subject callers to beeps, while 8 per cent leave them in silence and 5 per cent force them to listen to ringing.

Caravan Club sites app improved and relaunched

Caravan Club sites app improved and relaunched

After it was released to the market earlier this year, The Caravan Club has relaunched its caravan sites app following several alterations and amendments

The size of the app is significantly smaller than the previous version, taking up less storage space on your device.

This is because the app now uses the maps that are already built into your phone or tablet whereas before the update, the app came with Caravan Club maps that were installed on your device, making its overall size much larger.

By using the built-in maps (also known as 'native' maps), The Caravan Club has also been able to iron out some bugs that were being experienced with the previous version.

Night-rider Dave saddles a £4k charity windfall

While guests at Beauport Holiday Park near Hastings slept soundly in their beds one night this autumn, a gruelling marathon was taking place just outside their windows.

That's because night manager Dave Marshall had set himself the challenge of cycling 100 non-stop circuits of the two-mile route around the park in just 24 hours. But it wasn't just the distance that Dave needed to get under his belt, for the ups and downs meant he also had to climb the equivalent of the height of Mount Everest.
