Club's DG successfully completes Four Peaks fundraiser challenge

The Camping and Caravanning Club’s Director General, Robert Louden MBE, has successfully completed the UK’s demanding Four Peaks Challenge, raising more than £2500 for the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award in its Diamond Anniversary year.

Robert was joined for the final peak, Scafell Pike, by Chief Executive of the DofE Award, Peter Westgarth, who also reached the summit in difficult weather conditions. Peter presented Robert with his DofE Diamond Challenge pin and certificate on completion.

The new Secretary of State responsible for Culture, Media, Sport and Tourism, the Rt Hon Karen Bradley MP, accepted an invitation from Club Director General, Nick Lomas, to visit Blackshaw Moor Caravan Club Site in her Staffordshire Moorlands constituency.


Mrs Bradley and her two sons enjoyed a tour of the site, with Nick and the wardens, and chatted to members enjoying the Peak District sunshine.
