Pensions Regulator Auto-enrolment retirement money savings jar

Nathan Long, a senior pension analyst at Hargreaves Lansdown, says auto-enrolment tackles a huge, impending social problem of people not having sufficient monies squirreled away to support themselves in retirement: “It is so important in fact that the sniffer dogs at the Pension Regulator have been unleashed to track down the employers that are not complying with these new rules - the Pension Regulator has issued fines to employers on more than 20,000 occasions.” These can run up to £10,000 per day for the largest firms, but even the smallest of firms can see fines of £50 or £400 per day.

Wales tourism minister Lord Dafydd Elis-Thomas opened a new chapter in luxury holidays recently when he cut the tape on a Pembrokeshire holiday park's latest development.
Called Celtic Escapes and based at top-rated Noble Court Holiday Park near the market town of Narberth, it promises guests a pampering experience like no other.
In front of more than 200 VIP guests, Lord Elis-Thomas welcomed the £1 million venture and congratulated the family-owned business behind the enterprise.

Fife's tourism industry received another boost this summer when Willie Rennie MSP took time out to launch a new development of leisure homes at Elie Holiday Park (21.06.2018).
The MSP, who is Leader of the Scottish Liberal Democrats, said the 20 Castaway forest holiday homes would make a valuable extra impact on the local tourism economy.
Mr Rennie was the VIP guest of Abbeyford Leisure which has owned Elie Holiday Park for over 30 years, investing continually in new guest facilities and attractions.

After a stellar year of innovation and significant investments, the UK’s largest manufacturer of holiday homes and lodges, Willerby, has announced year on year sales growth of 12.7% in the financial year to September 2017. The company, which employs more than 1,000 people at its Hull headquarters, is now on track to exceed £180 m sales in 2018.

In 2016, Willerby’s annual turnover was £147m and in 2017 it reached £166m. The continued growth has been such that almost 200 new jobs have been created within the past two years.

Ray Fernandez, CEO of TyresOnTheDrive, the biggest provider in the mobile tyre fitting sector, said its technicians are seeing more cases where they go to fit a new tyre for customers who book an appointment and find the tread they are replacing is in a dangerous and illegal condition.
